Press Release-The Courage to Go Forward

Author, social justice and labour activist, Bernadette Hood-Caesar stood up for her rights and for the rights of others.  Her courageous journey is documented in her book entitled, ‘The Courage to Go Forward.’

The Courage to Go Forwardchronicles Bernadette Hood-Caesar’s journey where she grabbed local headlines in 1987 and chose to make a stand in a class-action law suit against the State of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Through an Act of Parliament, public servants herself included, were deprived of their cost of living allowances and increments established via the democratic process through collective bargaining. She was a front line worker, providing an essential service and rallied on behalf of 65,000 staff employed in the public service.

Living in Trinidad, in the mid eighties, Bernadette had to assume two mortgages and she had three young children. It did not appear that the union members had a chance for fair wages in Trinidad and Tobago until she stepped in.

The stand that Bernadette initiated eventually led to a change in the Trinidad and Tobago government. It was a lengthy fight and her strength, tenacity and courage will always be remembered.

The Courage to Go Forward is now available for purchase at Knowledge Bookstore in Brampton and Accents Bookstore in Toronto.

March 12, 2014 (Mississauga, Ontario).

The Transporting Device is a compelling Science-Fiction story about a university professor who invents a device which creates instantaneous travel from a person’s current location to any desired destination in the world without airport hassles.

It has been available in a print edition since February 24 and sales have been brisk.  “Customers have reacted enthusiastically since I’ve had it available as a printed book.  In fact, the printed edition has outsold the download edition 5 copies to 1”, says Joseph Monachino, the story’s author.  “Everybody I talk to has bought, or has the intention to buy, the book.  The interest in the printed edition has been very gratifying!”
Those who have read the story in both e-book and printed edition have described it as “brilliant” and “ambitious”.  Another reader said “…it’s an ingenious storyline with good structure that moves along well.”  All-in-all, it has been well received.

I am married and 51 years old.  My interests include writing, reading, Classic Rock music and artists, exercising using the treadmill, long distance walking, and watching movies especially comedies and Science-Fiction films.

Marketing as a Business System: A Guide to a Thorough, Integrated Marketing Function for Your Business

Press Release

New eBook Outlines Systematic Marketing Process for Organizations and Marketers

Des Moines, IA, December 31, 2013 --( Many organizations treat marketing as an autonomous function within the organization. Instead, successful customer-centric companies recognize that marketing is a systematic process that involves all departments and employees.

A new eBook, "Marketing as a Business System" by college marketing professor Neil Kokemuller, outlines the basic steps in the complete marketing process and how business leaders get all employees involved in carrying out marketing activities.

The eBook, which is a concise 16-page guide, is available for download at a price of $2.99 exclusively on the Kindle, or on other tablets using the Kindle app.

One customer review noted that "Marketing as a Business System" is “A great short overview of marketing. Thus the book is a quick read. I found myself highlighting some passages and will use this book as a reference for my businesses.”

To truly grasp the notion of marketing as a system, an organization must first have a marketing orientation, meaning its business is designed around needs, wants and preferences of target customers. It must then understand that market research, solution development, promotion, customer service and relationship management integrate to form the complete marketing process.

On his website,, Kokemuller notes that “This Kindle marketing eBook offers insights into how a business integrates all of these elements into a thorough marketing plan.”

In addition to downloading the marketing guide on your Kindle or tablet, readers Amazon Prime members can borrow the book from the Kindle Owner’s Lending Library for free.

Leopoldo’s first book of poetry spoke of thoughts of love.  This second book, entitled Soliloquy speaks more of God and of renewed hope in mankind. Although the book captures aspects of spirituality, it shies away from tired religious dogmas.  As a poet  he pieces together his views on the complexities of life. His monologue serves to strengthen the ties between man and his creator.

His poetry makes us wonder how the present differs from the past?  This is his view on writing:

Why I Write

The poet’s happiness is in others

faculty to perceive his verses

to be able to decipher his thoughts

to live his story so well by a heart

that at times becomes his own.

He is also the author of Hearts and Souls, which was released in 2011.  Following the release of Soliloquy, his second book, he is still continuously writing and thoroughly enjoys the process. For his latest book, Soliloquy, Leopoldo is looking forward to participating in various book readings and signings throughout the GTA.

Leopoldo migrated to Canada in 1974.  He returned to Brazil in 1980.  He studied at Faculdade de Letrtas (now Unisantos University), Sao Paulo.  In 1986, finally deciding that he wanted to live his life in Canada he returned and entered the University of Toronto (St. Michaels College).  According to Leopoldo, “It was the best decision I ever made to return to Toronto.”

Another poem featured in his collection is entitled:

Little boy, you have no idea

the quandary laid upon your shoulders.

You are half of the light to a future

that carries the legacy of our humankind.

Little girl, you will carry the predicament

rested upon his shoulders to bear the genus.

You are the missing half of the light

carrying the human family into a hopeful existence.

An ordinary item like a pair of sandals, takes on new meaning in his verse called:

On the Sandals of Time

In the corner an old pair of shoes

no longer used, sits measuring intervals

of events on scuffed leather, imprinting

his foot in memory firmly, tight, warm,

worn-out of need, evidence

he lived here, a short existence

before his demise.

Another featured verse drawn from his life experiences is entitled:

With a blissful face, his eyes wide open

show the white of his inner peace;

pallid ivory, his smile – an invitation

to realization of his happiness.

His words bring comfort as

never before felt by other men.

Soliloquy is available at: Q Space Bookstore, 383 College St., in Toronto call: 647-748-7484 and online at:
